Jack’s practice explores themes of landscape. He captures his images of the British coastline on his large format 5×4 film camera and manipulates the images physically with different printmaking processes and in paint, creating a heightened image surface. He uses the image surface to offset an attempt to metaphorically transport the viewer to a site, inhibiting an experiential subjection to the landscape.
Jack has exhibited his work in gallery’s across the North East. He has a solo exhibition of his photogravure prints at the Old School Gallery, in Almouth, from the 22nd of March 2018.
